#12 – Dalhousie Castle – Scotland
This castle located some 13 kilometers south of Edinburgh, was converted from a castle into a hotel in the year of 1973. The Dalhousie Castle Hotel is allegedly haunted by the ghost of a woman called Lady Catherine of Dalhousie, who was the daughter of some of the previous owners of the castle.
Legend has it that Lady Catherine of Dalhousie fell in love with a young and handsome man, but her parents didn’t allow Catherine to get married and engaged to him. Catherine then locked herself up at the top room of the castle, where she had starved herself to death.
